Older Bizarreness
The legendary Dutch guitar virtuoso
has been busy as ever with the release of three rare albums from the '80's on CD. Pleasure Point, From The Basement and Heartware have been reissued on the UK label HUX; all include several bonus cuts. Jan will appear at the 10th International Guitar Festival in Great Britain in November 1998. He will also be performing live on the BBC that month as well. Jan is currently endorsing a new guitar called Catalyst which looks and sounds like a guitar but has several unique qualities, such as superb sustaining abilities. Jan Akkerman is also finishing his first all-acoustic album and multimedia CD which will be an exclusive internet release.
The Dutch guitar master has been busy as usual playing various gigs throughout Europe. He has recently finished an album with early Hendrix collaborator Curtis Knight. Also Jan's entire back catalog, including the
infamous Oil In The Way CD, have been released some with bonus tracks in Europe. All titles will be available through Glass Onyon Distribution.
